Welcome to our Web Site. The links contained at this site will provide access to information for all aspects of our Village. A great deal of planning and effort was spent to ensure that you will enjoy this site. If we missed anything, or you would like to make a suggestion to improve our site, you can contact me by phone (732-2474) or e-mail. The Village Board of Trustees continues to move ahead with their
efforts to gain access to the Hudson River. The NYSDOT will be holding a public
information meeting on August 6, at the Castleton Fire Department. The village
has owned the site on the west side of the rail crossing at the foot of Scott
Avenue since the mid-1990’s. The State has been working on giving village
residents access to this potential riverfront park for many years, and have
settled on an elevator system that will allow pedestrian travel. Safety at the
rail crossings has been the first concern of both the State and the village,
and this solution will be a wonderful addition to our village. |
